To boost connected vehicle technologies, Suzuki Motor Corporation, Subaru Corporation (Subaru), Daihatsu Motor Co. Ltd., Toyota Motor Corporation (Toyota), and Mazda Motor Corporation (Mazda) reached an agreement to jointly develop technical specifications for next-generation vehicle communications devices.
- The joint effort will promote the common use of communications systems, by using connected services to link automobiles and society.
- Rapid advances are being made in the connected domain, in relation to the communications and data aspects of technology and business including cloud services, IoT, big data, and AI.
- At this time, Suzuki, Subaru, Daihatsu, and Mazda, while incorporating their own technologies into the base vehicle communications technologies developed by Toyota, will together build systems for next-generation connected cars with common connection specifications from vehicles to networks and the vehicle communications device center.
In April 2021, Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL), a subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation for production and sales of motorcycles in India, unveiled the all-new Hayabusa. The all-new Hayabusa will be assembled in India by exporting parts from Japan.
The all-new Hayabusa is the third-generation model of Suzukis flagship motorcycle which has been favored by customers around the world with its unique styling design with outstanding aerodynamic performance and superior riding performance.
In April 2021, Suzuki Motor Gujarat Private Limited (SMG), a 100% subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation for the production of automobiles in India, has completed construction of the Plant C. With production starting at the Plant C, which has an annual production ability of 250,000 units, together with Plant A and Plant B, the total ability of SMG will be 750,000 units.
Together with Maruti Suzukis production ability of 1.5 million units, Suzukis production ability of automobiles in India will be 2.25 million units. All automobiles that will be produced in SMG will be supplied to Maruti Suzuki.
In March 2020, Suzuki Motor Corporations U.S. subsidiary Suzuki Motor of America, Inc. (SMAI) announced to establishes the Suzuki Marine Technical Center USA in Panama City, Florida. The center will conduct testing of marine products, which is a first-of-its-kind facility outside of Japan for Suzuki.
In March 2020: Suzuki Motor Corporations subsidiary for production and sales of automobiles in Myanmar, Suzuki Thilawa Motor Co., Ltd., will construct a new plant, which will conduct welding, painting, and assembly of automobiles.
