The leading wind energy producer Total announced an agreement with the developer Simply Blue Energy to acquire 80% stake in the pioneering floating wind project Erebus located in the Celtic Sea, in Wales. UK is one of world’s largest offshore wind markets.
The offshore wind project will have a 96 megawatts capacity and will be installed in an area with water depth of 70 meters in the Celtic Sea. The fixed bottom technology of floating wind offshore has wide potential and strong growth in the years to come. The floating wind offshore has less impact on the landscape, and benefit from very high wind resources.

March 2020: Total announced that it will build the largest battery-based Energy Storage Project in France. The company launched a battery-based energy storage project in Mardyck, at the Flandres Center, in Dunkirk’s port district. With a storage capacity of 25 megawatt hours (MWh) and output of 25 MW of power, the new lithium-ion energy storage system will be the largest in France.
February 2020: Total announced an partnership deal to buys 50% stake in India’s Adani’s solar business for approximately $500 million. Adani Group is India’s largest privately-owned energy and infrastructure conglomerate. As per agreement Adani will transfer its solar assets currently in operation to a new joint-venture between subsidiary Adani Green Energy and Total.
January 2020: Total has announced an agreement for the development of the Al Kharsaah Solar PV IPP Project, a 800 megawatt-peak (MWp) solar plant that will be located 80 kilometers west of Doha, Qatar.
December 2020: Total announced a sale and purchase agreement with state-owned Sonangol of Angola to acquire interests in Blocks 20/11 and 21/09 in the Kwanza Basin, offshore Luanda.
September 2019: The second-largest private global LNG supplier Total announced the acquisition of Anadarkos 26.5% operated interest in the Mozambique LNG project for approximately $3.9 billion. Mozambique LNG is the country’s first onshore LNG development project
