For the development of electric mobility, the TRATON GROUP, a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, has decided to invest a total of USD 1.9 billion by 2025. The company will invest in research and development for e-mobility.

Nov 2020: Scania plans to establishing a wholly-owned truck production facility in Rugao in Jiangsu Province in China. The expansion in China is starting point for major investments in Asia region.
Nov 2020: The leading commercial vehicles manufacturer Scania announced to invest approximately $115 million in a battery assembly plant in Södertälje, Sweden. The investment will expand electrified range of trucks, buses and engines in the region.
Nov 2020: The French global energy and services group ENGIE, and its subsidiary EVBox Group joined forces with Scania to offer transport providers in 13 European countries a customised and complete e-mobility solution. Charging is a prerequisite for electrifying transport.
Sep 2020: Dagab, which handles assortment, purchasing and logistics for Swedens second largest food retail group Axfood, had formed a far-reaching collaboration with Scania in electrification. Scania will provide advisory services in areas such as fleet planning, assessing suitable routes for electrification and selecting an efficient charging infrastructure.
May 2020: Scania and the leading Norwegian food wholesaler ASKO had a long-standing collaboration in delivering high-performance trucks. Based on that close relationship, the two companies jointly explored new electrification technologies. Scania would deliver up to 75 battery electric trucks to ASKO over the following three years.
