The wind energy leader Vestas has received a 409 MW order from the joint venture between Votorantim Energia and the Canadian fund CPP Investments in Brazil. Vestas will provide wind turbines for the projects Ventos do Piauí II and Ventos do Piauí III, in Serra do Inácio, in the state of Piauí, in Brazil

  • The contract includes the supply and commissioning of V150-4.2 MW wind turbines, as well as a 20-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreements, designed to ensure optimised performance for the lifetime of the project.
  • Recently, Vestas announced it had surpassed 10 GW in firm order intake of V150-4.2 MW turbines globally and with this order Vestas has secured almost 3,5 GW of orders for the turbine variant in Brazil.

The major orders and deals by Vestas are featured below:

May 2020: Vestas has secured its largest order in Vietnam to date for a total of 144 MW for the three wind parks Lien Lap, Phong Huy, and Phong Nguyen in the Qung Tr Province. The new order takes Vestas’ 2020 order intake in Vietnam to over 300 MW.

May 2020: The wind turbine leader Vestas had secured new order from Vietnam for two projects totalling 64 MW located in complex mountainous terrain in Quang Tri province. With this new order, the company has closed more than 160 MW of deals in Vietnam in 2020.

March 2020, Vestas had secured an order from Green Investment Group Limited, a specialist developer, sponsor and investor and part of the Macquarie Group for the 79.8 MW wind project in Norway.

March 2020, Vestas had received an order for a project in China that includes the supply of V120-2.2 MW wind turbines as well as a 5-year Active Output Management 4000(AOM 4000) service agreement. The order brings Vestas’ total order intake in China up to more than 600 MW within a period of three months.

February 2020, Vestas had secured an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) order for the 108 MW Energía Sierra Juárez II wind park, to be located in Tecate, Baja California, Mexico.
