The top four global news from 28 April to 15 May 2020: The global industrial gas leader Air Products has signed a definitive agreement for a long-term on-site contract for a world-scale coal-to-methanol production facility in Bengalon, East Kalimantan, Indonesia. Air Products will invest approximately USD 2 billion in Bengalon for coal-to-methanol facility, The leading chemical firm Mitsui Chemicals, has begun working on the development of a new, reusable 3D-printed mask with Nagoya University and a spinoff venture from Nagoya University. The new masks key feature is the fact that it not only filters out viral particles but also can be reused, The worlds leading chemical gas company Messer has started operation of its new Keyes, California carbon dioxide (CO2) plant. The new facility will serve existing and new customers in northern California and surrounding geographies via rail network and Mitsubishi Chemical Holdings subsidiary Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation (MCC) announced that it agreed to acquire Pennsylvania based Gelest Intermediate Holdings, Inc from New Mountain Capital, LLC through American subsidiary Mitsubishi Chemical America, Inc.
