To boost Indian exports Walmart announced that it will triple its exports of goods from India to $10 billion each year by 2027. Walmart will strengthen development of the supply chain ecosystem in India.
- Walmarts new export commitment is expected to provide a significant boost to micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in India, alongside ongoing efforts such as the Flipkart Samarth and Walmart Vriddhi supplier development programs.
- The expansion in sourcing will include helping develop hundreds of new suppliers in categories such as food, pharmaceuticals, consumables, health & wellness and general merchandise, along with apparel, homeware and other key Indian export categories.

Nov 2020: The leading equity investment company KKR & Co. Inc. and e commerce firm Rakuten, Inc., announced to purchase a majority stake in Seiyu GK, from global retail company Walmart Inc for approximately $1.6 billion. The deal helps in digital transformation of Japanese Retail.
July 2020: WellBe provider HandsFree Health announced that it signed an agreement with e-commerce leader Walmart. As per agreement HandsFree Healths WellBe smart speaker is being shipped nationwide through Walmart’s e-commerce site.
July 2020: Indias leading e-commerce group the Flipkart has announced the launch of Flipkart Wholesale. The new digital marketplace Flipkart Wholesale will transform Indias retail ecosystem. Flipkart also announced that it acquires 100% interest in Wal-Mart India Private Limited, which operates the Best Price wholesale business.
May 2020: The retail giant Walmart announced its partnership with thredUP, to enters fashion resale market. The deal helps in expanding assortment of quality, on-trend and accessible fashions for modern customers.
January 2020: Walmart announced the opening of a case-ready facility facility in Thomasville, GA, the USA. The new facility is part of the companys new Angus beef supply chain.
September 2019, the Walmart Distribution Center in Sanger, TX, became home to the first-of-its-kind Walmart Supply Chain Academy, created specifically to train the retailers supply chain associates and provide them with a clear path to advancement.
