To strengthen poultry supply chain, Yum China Holdings, has acquired a 5% equity interest in Fujian Sunner Development Co., Ltd. Fujian based Sunner is China’s largest white- feathered chicken producer.
- The deal will enhance the Yum China’s supply chain security and deepen collaborations in the areas of product development and innovations.
- Sunner has a vertically integrated business model covering the full production chain, which primarily includes chicken breeding and farming, feed processing and meat processing.
- Yum China is the largest restaurant company in China in terms of 2020 system sales, with 10,506 restaurants in over 1,500 cities at the end of December 2020.
In April 2020, Yum China Holdings, Inc. announced that it had completed the acquisition of a controlling interest in a leading Chinese-style casual dining franchise business of Huang Ji Huang group.
Huang Ji Huang was founded in 2004 in Beijing. At present the company has more than 640 restaurants in China and globally.
In February 2020, Yum China Holdings in response to the outbreak of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), it announced that it has been actively mobilizing resources in a multi-pronged strategy. The company has donated funding, free meals, and volunteer time to support medical workers on the frontline.
